Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a dedicated maintenance professional focusing on ammonia refrigeration and safety at our Compton facility. You will monitor and inspect ammonia systems, lead safety changes, and coordinate with the Maintenance supervisor to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of refrigeration and 5+ years of maintenance experience, with an Operator I certification and strong analytical, communication and mechanical skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on refrigeration experience.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience.
• Operator I Certificate required.
• Excellent analytical, communication and mechanical skills.
• Ability to pass a physical and respirator fit test.
• RMP background.
• PSM background.
• Knowledge in electrical and general mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operation set and control points, and daily events related to hazardous materials and refrigeration.
• Conduct routine inspections of all ammonia systems and equipment.
• Comply with department policies and safe work environment procedures.
• Lead and support safety changes.
• Routinely inspect ammonia equipment with Maintenance supervisor to determine deficiencies and root cause.
• Operate ammonia equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Facilitate continuous on-site training.
• Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job description

Responsible and accountable for maintaining ammonia systems, equipment and procedures. Coordinate with management, regarding the health and safety of all associates and the community in the event of an emergency involving federal regulated process. Responsibilities

• Monitor operation set and control points, as well as daily events related to hazardous materials and refrigeration

• Partner with Maintenance supervisor to routinely inspect ammonia equipment for deficiencies and determine root cause
