Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking an experienced field service technician in California to service and repair air compressors, pumps, and rotating equipment. You will analyze failures, recommend improvements, and work with sales and operations to grow service opportunities.

The role emphasizes safe operation, high-quality workmanship, and timely reporting. A driver's license is required, and ongoing training is provided to stay current with technology and best practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Multicraft and/or technician experience is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Self-starter and highly motivated person.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic with organized habits.
• Commitment to the concept of 'doing it right the first time'.
• Technically knowledgeable, conscientious, detail-oriented with excellent communication.
• Valid Driver's License, able to pass drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment.
• Provide failure analysis and recommendations to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for service growth and customer satisfaction with sales and operations teams.
• Sell recommended repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance solutions.
• Complete accurate service reports detailing work performed and parts used.
• Keep service vehicle stocked with tools, parts, and equipment for efficient service methods.
• Represent OTC Industrial Technologies professionally and build customer relationships.
• Apply advanced mechanical and technical skills to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Respond to urgent service calls to minimize disruptions.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and act as a technical advisor to customers.
• Follow safety protocols and stay current on new technologies.
• Stay engaged with ongoing training and be flexible to take on additional responsibilities.

Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $30.00/hr. to $50.00/hr., depending on experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Do:

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Provide comprehensive failure analysis and develop actionable recommendations to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
• Work closely with sales and operations teams to identify opportunities for service growth and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and sell recommended repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance solutions to customers, ensuring long‑term equipment health and cost savings.
• Complete accurate service reports detailing work performed, parts used, and any additional recommendations, maintaining compliance with company standards.
• Keep service vehicle stocked with proper tools, parts, and equipment to enable efficient, factory‑approved service methods.
• Represent OTC with a positive, professional image, while building strong customer relationships and trust.
• Apply advanced mechanical and technical skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues quickly and effectively.
• Work closely with team members and management to meet service goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Respond to urgent service calls and provide rapid solutions to minimize operational disruptions.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, build trust, and act as a technical advisor to customers.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
• Stay current on new technologies, equipment, and service techniques through ongoing training.
• Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

What You’ll Need:

• Multi‑craft and/or technician experience desirable.
