Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Compressor CAD Product Designer in the United States. You will create and maintain CAD models, drawings and BOMs for centrifugal, screw and reciprocating compressor products, ensuring validity with GD&T and evolving with design reviews.

Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams to deliver accurate designs and timely documentation. Strong CAD experience and cross-functional collaboration are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years in engineering.
• 3+ years experience with CAD modeling tools and product development workflows.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

About this role

The Compressor CAD Product Designer is responsible for creating and maintaining designs, drawings, models, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation for Centrifugal, Screw, and Recip compressor products. The role supports both new product development and sustaining engineering activities within the compression team Design Services R&D group while ensuring designs meet engineering standards, manufacturability requirements, and product quality objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams to deliver accurate and timely design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and product documentation using Creo and related design tools.
• Develop detailed models, design drawings (including GD&T), bills of materials, and specifications for compressor assemblies and subassemblies.
• Support engineering change workflows including documentation updates and release activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams to resolve design and integration issues.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions to support project objectives and design quality.
• Track assigned project activities and communicate design status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
• Contribute technical knowledge and support project execution while working under general guidance on short to medium term assignments.
• Participate in Carrier process improvement initiatives, including standard work creation and improvement, and other continuous improvement activities.

Basic Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience in an engineering environment, OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years of experience in an engineering environment.

• 3+ years experience in product development workflows and release processes.
• 3+ years experience with CAD modeling tools.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)

• Proficiency with CREO for 3D modeling and drawing creation.
• Proficiency with Windchill for model, drawing, and product data release and management.
• Proficiency with GD&T.
• Experience in coordinating and reviewing work within a global team.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication and assembly methods.
• Experience leading technical discussions and design reviews.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong skills in attention to detail and follow-up/ follow-through skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction; visa sponsorship is not available.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
