Job summary

Dell Medical School seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical assessment, examination, and treatment of pregnant women with fetal disorders. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, perform admissions H&Ps, and assist with fetal surgery planning.

Responsibilities include taking histories, ordering tests, documenting progress, and coordinating care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Requires NP license (Texas), NP degree, board certification, and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted NP license in Texas.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP/ANCC).
• Current DEA license and ability to use software for data entry and information retrieval.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Provide quality care and conduct diagnostic testing per guidelines.
• Participate in ongoing quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve patient care.
• Perform all admission history & physicals.
• Conduct daily hospital rounds, document progress notes, write orders, and assist with therapeutic plans.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies.
• Discharge planning including documentation, prescriptions, and patient education.
• Willingness to acquire ultrasound skills for fetal assessment and guidance.
• Chart review and data collection for neonatal follow-up for clinical database.
• Multi-disciplinary conference presentation preparation.
• Collaborate with physicians, staff, and patients to provide comprehensive care.
• Ensure continuous communication with clinic leadership to enhance services.
• Provide patient navigation between inpatient and outpatient care.
• Participate in education of medical students and residents; support research initiatives.

• Provide quality care and conduct diagnostic testing in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines
• Participate in ongoing quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve patient care
• Perform all admission history & physicals
• Conduct daily hospital rounds, document progress notes, write orders, and assist with implementation of therapeutic fetal surgery plans
• Order and interpret laboratory studies
• Discharge planning including documentation, writing prescriptions, explaining discharge/post-operative instructions, and patient education
• Willingness to acquire limited ultrasound skills such as the assessment of fetal viability, fetal presentation, biophysical profiles and ultrasound guidance for invasive procedures
• Chart review and data collection for the neonatal follow-up for clinical database
• Multi-disciplinary conference presentation preparation
• Work collaboratively with a team of physicians, associate providers, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive clinical care
• Ensure continuous flow of communication with leadership of clinic to enhance quality of healthcare services to patients
• Provide patient navigation to provide seamless care coordination between inpatient and outpatient settings
• Participate in the education of medical students, OB/GYN residents, and Maternal‑Fetal Medicine fellows
• Support and participate in research initiatives within the Center
• Other related functions as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner through an approved certifying organization (e.g., AANP or ANCC)
• Current (Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
• Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to utilize software for data entry, information retrieval as well as outpatient and inpatient electronic medical records
• Aptitude to work in a multi‑physician practice in a complex environment; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in women’s health, OBGYN or family medicine preferred.

Salary Range

$110,000+ depending on qualifications
