Job summary

Dell Medical School in Texas is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical assessment, examination, and treatment of pregnant women with fetal disorders. You will work in a multidisciplinary Maternal‑Fetal Medicine team, performing histories, exams, orders, and contributing to fetal surgery planning.

Responsibilities include rounds, diagnostics, documentation, discharge planning, and patient education; ultrasound skills may be developed.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted NP license in Texas.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited NP program.
• Current national board certification through an approved certifying organization (AANP/ANCC).
• DEA license required.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to use outpatient and inpatient EMR systems.
• Ability to work in a multi-physician practice in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Provide quality care and conduct diagnostic testing in accordance with evidence-based guidelines.
• Participate in ongoing quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve patient care.
• Perform all admission history & physicals.
• Conduct daily hospital rounds, document progress notes, write orders, and assist with implementation of therapeutic fetal surgery plans.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies.
• Discharge planning including documentation, writing prescriptions, explaining discharge/post-operative instructions, and patient education.
• Willingness to acquire limited ultrasound skills for fetal assessment.
• Chart review and data collection for neonatal follow-up.
• Multi-disciplinary conference presentation preparation.
• Work with physicians, associate providers, and others to provide clinical care.
• Ensure continuous communication with clinic leadership to enhance quality of care.
• Provide patient navigation to coordinate inpatient/outpatient care.
• Educate medical students, OB/GYN residents, and Maternal‑Fetal Medicine fellows.
• Support research initiatives within the Center.
• Other related functions as assigned.

• Work collaboratively with a team of physicians, associate providers, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive clinical care
• Ensure continuous flow of communication with leadership of clinic to enhance quality of healthcare services to patients
• Provide patient navigation to provide seamless care coordination between inpatient and outpatient settings
• Participate in the education of medical students, OB/GYN residents, and Maternal‑Fetal Medicine fellows
• Support and participate in research initiatives within the Center
• Other related functions as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner through an approved certifying organization (e.g., AANP or ANCC)
• Current (Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
• Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to utilize software for data entry, information retrieval as well as outpatient and inpatient electronic medical records
• Aptitude to work in a multi‑physician practice in a complex environment; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in women’s health, OBGYN or family medicine preferred.

Salary Range

$110,000+ depending on qualifications
