Job summary

Dell Medical School is seeking a nurse practitioner to provide clinical assessment, examination, and treatment of pregnant women with fetal disorders in a hospital/clinic setting. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and contribute to education and research initiatives.

The role requires an NP license, national certification, and DEA registration, with opportunities to participate in quality improvement and clinical audits while supporting patient navigation

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted NP license in the state referenced (Texas).
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited NP program.
• Current national board certification (AANP or ANCC).
• Current DEA license.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to utilize software for data entry and access to outpatient/inpatient EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Provide quality care and conduct diagnostic testing per guidelines.
• Participate in quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve patient care.
• Perform all admission history and physicals.
• Conduct daily hospital rounds, document progress notes, and assist with fetal surgery plans.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies.
• Discharge planning, documentation, prescriptions, and discharge instructions.
• Acquire ultrasound skills for fetal viability and related assessments.
• Chart review and data collection for neonatal follow-up.
• Multi-disciplinary conference presentation preparation.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to provide comprehensive clinical care.
• Maintain communication with clinic leadership to enhance care quality.
• Provide patient navigation between inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in education of medical students and residents.
• Support research initiatives within the Center.
• Other related functions as assigned

Job description

To provide clinical assessment, examination, and treatment of pregnant women with fetal disorders.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Provide quality care and conduct diagnostic testing in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines
• Participate in ongoing quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve patient care
• Perform all admission history & physicals
• Conduct daily hospital rounds, document progress notes, write orders, and assist with implementation of therapeutic fetal surgery plans
• Order and interpret laboratory studies
• Discharge planning including documentation, writing prescriptions, explaining discharge/post-operative instructions, and patient education
• Willingness to acquire limited ultrasound skills such as the assessment of fetal viability, fetal presentation, biophysical profiles and ultrasound guidance for invasive procedures
• Chart review and data collection for the neonatal follow-up for clinical database
• Multi-disciplinary conference presentation preparation
• Work collaboratively with a team of physicians, associate providers, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive clinical care
• Ensure continuous flow of communication with leadership of clinic to enhance quality of healthcare services to patients
• Provide patient navigation to provide seamless care coordination between inpatient and outpatient settings
• Participate in the education of medical students, OB/GYN residents, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellows
• Support and participate in research initiatives within the Center
• Other related functions as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner through an approved certifying organization (e.g., AANP or ANCC)
• Current (Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
• Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to utilize software for data entry, information retrieval as well as outpatient and inpatient electronic medical records
• Aptitude to work in a multi-physician practice in a complex environment; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in women’s health, OBGYN or family medicine preferred.

Salary Range

$110,000+ depending on qualifications
