Job summary

InfuCare Rx is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician/Compounding Technician to join our West Palm Beach team. The role supports all phases of compounding and dispensing under a licensed pharmacist, ensuring safe, accurate, timely preparation of medications for home infusion patients.

You will contribute to sterile and non-sterile compounding, inventory, QA, and customer service, upholding policy and regulatory standards while delivering patient-centered care in a growth-focused infusions

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Pharmacy technician in a compounding pharmacy.
  • IV tech certification is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to compound, prepare and dispense medications/supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies using appropriate techniques.
  • Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dose of medication.
  • Demonstrate and incorporate safety, sterile product processing, and infection control into daily activities.
  • Dispense products and record in pharmacy software to generate delivery documents.
  • Ensure licensed pharmacist checks all outgoing prescriptions prior to delivery and participate in patient outreach.
  • Assist with selection, packing and delivery of specialty infusion products.
  • Contact patients and caregivers to determine health, supplies or delivery matters.
  • Confirm delivery based on company protocols.
  • Assist with recording and maintaining pharmacy logs.
  • Maintain surfaces and equipment in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to safety and quality assurance practices and comply with laws.
  • Assist with product purchasing, inventory and equipment management.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure correct drug products are received.
  • Verify accuracy of product orders and track infusion pumps and equipment.
  • Sterile compounding: aseptically prepare sterile product requests and maintain logs.

Infucare RX is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician/Compounding Technician to join our team in West Palm Beach area. As a Pharmacy Technician/ Compounding Technician, you support all phases of pharmacy compounding and dispensing while delivering patient-centered service. This role works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and collaborates with caregivers, prescribers, and internal teams to ensure safe, accurate, and timely preparation of medications.

The technician contributes to sterile and non-sterile compounding, inventory management, quality assurance, and customer service in accordance with company policies, state regulations, and professional standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist the Compounding Technician will:

  • Assist the pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies using appropriate techniques
  • Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct dose of medication
  • Demonstrate & incorporates principles of safety, sterile product processing & infection control into daily activities as outlined in organization's policies/procedures
  • Dispense products and record in pharmacy management software to generate delivery documents for prescription including ticket and labels
  • Ensure that a licensed pharmacist on duty properly checks all outgoing prescriptions prior to delivery and participate in patient outreach process
  • Assist with the selection, packing and delivery of specialty infusion products and services on a patient specific basis
  • Contact patients, caregivers and other stakeholders to determine health, supplies or delivery matters and as needed
  • Confirm delivery based on company protocols
  • Assist with recording and maintaining of various pharmacy logs
  • Ensure that all pharmacy, preparation and all surfaces are maintained in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to appropriate safety and quality assurance practices. Comply with state and federal laws
  • Assists with product purchasing, inventory and equipment management
  • Coordinate with suppliers and ensure the correct drug products are received from the wholesale company if requested
  • Verify the accuracy of product orders received. Checks prices against contract and in the schedule of charges. Assists with the system of tracking infusion pumps and medical equipment.
Sterile Compounding- Where applicable
  • Aseptically prepares all sterile product requests for patients upon receipt of physician orders in accordance with established policies & procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate logs & cleaning records of biomedical equipment.
  • Carries out various quality assurance procedures & testing specific to sterile compounding as required.
  • Assists with certification of staff and equipment specific to sterile compounding and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the State Board of Pharmacy of state employed
  • Minimum of (5) years’ experience as a Pharmacy technician in a compounding pharmacy, if applicable
  • IV tech certification is preferred.
  • Excellent Communication skills including reading, writing, and speaking
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to compound, prepare and dispense medications/supplies including clean room maintenance.
  • Ability to record and maintain pharmacy records. Understand how to calculate and check for correct doses of medication.
Highly Preferred Certification and Experience/Skill Requirements:
  • Experience working in an acute or specialty infusion pharmacy
  • Experience working in a hospital pharmacy
  • Experience with advanced sterile compounding, (Chemo, TPN, Antibiotics plus other complex therapies)
  • Experience with CPR+ Pharmacy Management System
  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program certified as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT - Pharmacy Tech Certification Board or ICPhT - Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy)
