Job summary

Apex International in Chaska is seeking Compounders to support production of OTC, personal care, and household products. The role involves mixing raw ingredients, operating mix tanks, and following SOPs to ensure safety and batch quality.

Two weekend shifts are available: Day shift Fri-Sun 6am-6pm and Night shift Fri-Sun 6pm-6am, at the Chaska location. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma and about 1 year of chemical handling experience, plus ability to read and follow instructions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Approximately 1 year of experience in chemical handling.
  • Prior mixing experience is a plus.
  • Ability to operate all material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follows processes to improve quality and efficiency; accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Maintains working knowledge of PC operation.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and write in English at a 12th grade level.
  • Strong ability to decipher alpha-numeric sequences.
  • Able to read and follow specifications/instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Mix and prepare batch records based on schedule requirements.
  • Follow SOPs and GMPs to ensure batch-making accuracy.
  • Ensure batch yields stay within acceptable range.
  • Report and investigate yield variances.
  • Dispose of scrap in an environmentally safe manner.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance and proper cleaning of all equipment.
  • Maintain a lean mindset and seek process improvements.

We are currently seeking Compounders to support our Chaska.

This position is responsible for mixing raw ingredients to produce finished batches of high-quality over-the-counter, personal care, and household products by following complex company procedures, operating mix tanks and relevant equipment while maintaining safety, product quality and meeting production goals.

We currently have the following shifts available for this position:
  • Weekend Day Shift Friday/Saturday/Sunday 6:00am-6:00pm, Chaska location
  • Weekend Night Shift Friday/Saturday/Sunday 6:00pm-6:00am, Chaska location
Job Responsibilities
  • Mix and make batch records based on schedule requirements
  • Follow Compounding Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to ensure batch-making accuracy
  • Ensure batch yields are falling within an acceptable range
  • Report and investigate any yield variances
  • Disposes of any scrap in an environmentally safe manner
  • Ensures preventative maintenance and proper cleaning procedures are done on all equipment.
  • Has a lean mindset and always looking for ways to improve processes
Qualifications And Preferred Experience
  • High school diploma or GED is required

  • Ability to operate all material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Uses processes and technology to improve the quality and efficiency of service or production; follows processes well.
  • Can maintain and grow technical knowledge and expertise. Can be accurate, precise and pay attention to detail.
  • Has a "working" knowledge of personal computer operation.
  • Can read, comprehend and write in English at a 12th grade level.
  • Strong ability to decipher alpha-numeric numbering sequences.
  • Ability to read and follow specifications/instructions.
Work Requirements
  • This position may require work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business, and specific sales efforts underway. It requires reliable transportation. It has a moderate to high demand for tight deadlines. This position entails work of a cyclical nature. This position will experience moderate interruption in workflow for product changeovers. It has no requirement for overnight or day travel.
Physical Requirements
  • Continuous (6 or more hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and grasping.
  • Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
  • Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
  • Sensory requirements: Good eyesight, normal hearing, and fluent in the English language.
Working Conditions
  • Indoors, seasonally hot and humid.
  • Will be exposed to various fragrances which at times may be at elevated levels.
  • Moving and lifting objects, sometimes 50 lbs., frequently.
  • This job involves working with FDA approved substances which may have allergic potential in some people.
Work Schedule

This position usually works for 8-10 hours during a shift. However, hours of work are flexible and will fluctuate based on the needs of the business and the customers. The job may require a maximum of 5-20 hours of work beyond the normal 40 hour work-week schedule depending on work demands. The work hours can vary depending on customer requirements and staffing.
