Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

Job Purpose

Compounder prepares batches of raw materials for production processing according to specifications and established procedures. Obtains materials from inventory and utilizes scales or automated equipment to accurately weight. Being a Compounder cleans and sanitizes processing equipment, tanks, filters, pipes, lines, and pumps. Completes all documentation or logbooks accurately and in accordance with GMP. Additionally, Compounder follows hazardous material handling and personal protective equipment requirements, if applicable. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. The Compounder works under moderate supervision.

Responsibilities Include
  • Manufacture products according to specific batch records.
  • Measure, weigh and mix chemical ingredients according to specifications.
  • Proper mixing of chemicals, the preparation of equipment and the processing of raw materials.
  • Estimate materials required for production and manufacturing of products.
  • Inspect product and report any quality issues to supervisor.
  • Follow all safety rules/regulations and report any workplace injuries or accidents to manager immediately.
  • Keep workspaces and tools clean, following GMP.
  • Follow all SOP’s, GMP’s and all other applicable regulations.
  • Performs all batch record documentations, inventory transactions and final bulk confirmations.
  • Connect hoses, pumps, and valves to transfer chemicals between tanks and drums.
  • Set up and tear down equipment as needed for cleaning. Ensure all equipment, pumps, lines, and pipes are clean and sanitized.
  • Label drums, totes, buckets appropriately.
  • Extract bulk samples for laboratory analysis after completion of the batch compounding.
  • Collect water samples for laboratory analysis from various equipment, water ports that will be utilized in compounding the batch.
  • Record production counts in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Perform all job functions at an acceptable level of production.
  • Perform duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Read and comprehend instructions and basic chemical and hazard information.
  • Utilize scales to accurately weigh materials (we can remove batches if scales are used to weigh other materials)
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Read and understand SDS, GHS occupational safety and health warning signs.
  • Math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Availability to contribute to departmental Continuous Improvement.
  • Capable of using basic tools like wrenches, Hex keys, screw drivers etc.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to kneel, squat, bend, stand for long periods of time and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Moving large batches of materials with forklifts, pallet jacks and drum lifts.
  • Frequent equipment noise.
