Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes is seeking a Compost & Recycling Specialist to support the development and implementation of internal composting and recycling programs in Juneau. The role includes hands-on operation of the composting facility, monitoring equipment, handling organic materials, and sorting recyclables to ensure compliance with waste-management practices.

Qualificações

• Knowledge of composting, recycling, solid waste management, or related environmental programs.
• Ability to perform hands-on field work and support day-to-day operation of composting and recycling facilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and project partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and track multiple projects, activities, and deadlines.
• Ability to collect, maintain, and report program and operational data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsabilidades

• Support day-to-day operation and management of the composting facility, including monitoring equipment and managing organic materials.
• Support collection, sorting, preparation, storage, and shipment of recyclable materials.
• Conduct field work, site visits, material collection, and equipment checks.
• Assist with implementation of composting and recycling projects, including tracking activities and data collection.
• Promote composting, recycling, waste reduction through outreach and education.
• Identify needs and provide technical assistance for program support.
• Collect and maintain operational data for grant reporting and evaluation.
• Maintain supplies and equipment needed for composting and recycling activities.
• Coordinate with staff, contractors, and project partners as needed.
• Assist with grant reporting and other grant administration activities.
