Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Composite Technician II to fabricate aerospace-grade composite components for production and development programs. Based in Briggs, TX, you will work on primary structures, tanks, and secondary hardware from raw fibers to delivery for integration, with working knowledge of layups and curing processes.

Responsibilities include cutting, bonding, laminating, curing cycles, and ensuring traceability under AS9100.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of composite manufacturing experience.
• Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to independently execute composite builds.
• Ability to read and interpret composite layup and assembly prints.
• Experience working with material data sheets.

Responsibilities

• Cut and kit composite materials to tight tolerances.
• Perform bonding operations including surface prep and adhesive application.
• Execute hand lamination of carbon, fiberglass, Kevlar, film adhesives, and core materials.
• Perform full vacuum bag cure cycles including debulking and oven monitoring.
• Cure materials per manufacturer specifications.
• Identify scarf back plies as required.
• Interpret composite layup drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Maintain material traceability and PPE compliance.
• Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
