Job summary

Syensqo seeks a Senior engineer to develop and advance composite materials and manufacturing technologies for aerospace structures. You will lead cross-functional teams, translating innovation into viable products while aligning with market needs and customer requirements.

You will engage with customers as the primary technical interface, promote Syensqo solutions, and advise on material selection and processing for new applications. A strong aerospace background is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' demonstrated work experience including problem solving, research and development, project management, effective communication with stakeholders, relationship building, and identification of new opportunities in aerospace composite structures.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience reviewing composite part designs/drawings for manufacturability and specification compliance.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Research and Development of composite materials and processing technologies including simulation.
  • At least 3 years in the aerospace industry including OEMs, suppliers, programs, aerospace quality systems, and composite testing requirements.

  • Lead the implementation and advancement of chemical processes for the manufacturing of Pyroshock compliant composite parts, taking into account safety, reliability, efficiency, and industrial-scale compatibility.
  • Design and synthesize novel epoxy injection molding additives and PDMS‑based elastomers to enhance performance in high‑temperature resistance, flame‑retardant, structural, affordability, and end‑to‑end integrated supply chain resilience.
  • Develop analytical methods for assessing curing dynamics, mechanical performance, and micro‑structure through NMR spectroscopic characterization, micro‑anodic and rheological approaches at a micro‑nanometer scale.

You will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering or Material Science discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' demonstrated work experience including: problem solving, research and development, project management, effective communication with stakeholders, relationship building, and identification of new opportunities in aerospace composite structures.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience on reviewing composite part designs / drawings for manufacturability and specification compliance.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience on Research and Development of composite materials and processing technologies including simulation.
  • At least 3 years in working and understanding of the aerospace industry including OEMs, their suppliers, various programs, aerospace quality systems, composite testing requirements, statistical process control and capability, etc.
You will get:
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $123,00.00 to $168,000.00 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
  • 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations
