Job summary

Firefly Aerospace seeks an experienced Composite Technician II to independently fabricate aerospace-grade composite components for production and development programs. You will support the manufacture of primary structures, tanks, and secondary hardware from raw fiber through delivery to integration.

Location: Briggs, TX. You will spearhead layups, curing, and inspections with minimal supervision while mentoring junior technicians and driving continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in composite manufacturing (aerospace preferred).
• Strong expertise in layup, bonding, and cure processes.
• Experience building flight-critical or high-complexity hardware.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and meticulous craftsmanship.
• Proficient with pneumatic tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment.
• Experience in AS9100 or similarly regulated environment.
• Proven ability to mentor junior team members.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and efficiency

SUMMARY

Composite Technician II is an intermediate-level role responsible for independently fabricating aerospace-grade composite components for production and development programs.

This role supports the manufacture of primary structures, tanks, and secondary hardware from raw fiber through delivery to integration. Technicians at this level demonstrate strong technical skill and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Location: Briggs, TX (north of Cedar Park)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead fabrication of complex aerospace-grade composite structures
• Execute advanced layups and structural builds with minimal supervision
• Perform advanced vacuum bagging and cure cycle operations
