This hands-on role includes equipment troubleshooting, process development, and fabrication for sophisticated structures. You will work on-site in Oak Ridge, contribute to procedural improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in science/engineering with 2+ years of experience, or high school diploma with 6+ years.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency with shop equipment and fabrication tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SolidWorks is a plus.

Position Overview:

As a Composite Fabrication Technician, you will fabricate, assemble, and test composite components and support manufacturing process improvements. This hands-on role includes equipment troubleshooting, process development, and composite layup/fabrication for advanced systems.

Location:

On-site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Your Day-to-Day as a Composite Fabrication Technician:
  • Fabricate, assemble, and test composite components for advanced systems.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and troubleshoot fabrication equipment.
  • Support development of operational procedures and process improvements.
  • Execute fabrication and assembly of complex components, test stands, and fixtures.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in science/engineering with 2+ years of experience
    OR high school diploma with 6+ years of experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency with shop equipment and fabrication tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE or DOD clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with filament winding, fiber placement, or composite processes.
  • Experience with NQA1, ISO9001, or AS9100 quality programs.
  • Experience in isotope enrichment or fast-paced technical environments.
  • Active DOE Q security clearance highly preferred.

Pay: $30.70- $43.26

The starting hourly rate for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $30.70 and $43.26 per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify the hourly rate (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation, or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or applicable department/team performance, and other market factors.
