Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks a Composite Engineer for the Adelanto Flight Test Facility to support engineering activities on medium-scale projects and to analyze and resolve manufacturing and modification issues.

The role requires understanding of composite materials, drawings, and regulatory compliance with the ability to work independently or on a team in a dynamic environment. DoD security clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace engineering with 2+ years of engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of composite engineering concepts, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and organize work to meet timelines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide floor and field support to analyze and resolve manufacturing and modification issues.
• Communicate engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements per drawings and specs.
• Collaborate with quality, program management, engineering, and customer management to meet requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis for manufacturing issues and provide containment and path forward.
• Track design issues and provide input to design engineering and management.
• Keep management informed of product performance, risks, and customer concerns.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with changing tasks and deadlines.
• Observe all laws, regulations, and safety practices.
