Arrowhead Products in Los Alamitos, CA is seeking a Sewing Machine Operator for the 2nd shift. This full-time role focuses on heavy-duty sewing and competent setup and operation of sewing equipment within a composites manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma and at least one year of experience with commercial sewing machines, plus the ability to read blueprints and production docs, and to follow safety procedures and quality standards on the shop floor.

Job Location: Arrowhead Products - Los Alamitos, CA 90720

Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $26.88 - $26.88 Hourly

Job Shift: 2nd Shift

This position will be responsible for Sewing operations within Arrowhead Products' composite products manufacturing. Sewing Machine Operator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will perform heavy-duty sewing.
• Will perform normal setups and operation of all equipment and maintain the machine in good working order.
• Will identify part defects and make proper corrections.
• Will cut and develop patterns per the blueprint and production planning specifications.
• Work with the M.E. to develop new processes for new products.
• Record all traceability information of material used and log on shop travelers.
• Responsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department.
• Will maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; previous manufacturing experience may be substituted for education requirement.
• Minimum one (1) year experience with commercial sewing machines (all types) required.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, an individual must:

• Work Environment Exposures:
  • Work around equipment and machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Walk on uneven ground.
  • Be exposed to excessive noise, dust, gases, fumes, and chemicals commonly associated with manufacturing processes (e.g., paint, solvents, coatings, and fiberglass).
  • Be exposed to extremes in temperature, humidity, or wetness, particularly on the manufacturing floor.
• Protective Equipment:
  • Use special visual or auditory protective equipment as required.
  • Use safety glasses and wear safety shoes as required.
  • Must use Tyvek coats/suit, P-95 respirator, apron, and shoe covers.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent lifting of up to 35 lbs.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling.
  • Bend, stoop, and squat occasionally.
  • Sit, stand, and walk frequently.
  • Talk and listen frequently.
  • Occasional use of computers.
  • Constant use and motion of hands and arms, including squeezing, gripping, and pinching.
  • Constant exposure to manufacturing shop noise.
