Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an Estimator within Metal Sales to support bids with accurate pricing from drawings, specs, and vendor data. The role involves resolving discrepancies and maintaining pricing, while building relationships with Builders and Sales teams.

The US base salary range is $26 - $33 per hour plus benefits. Travel is not typical; strong Excel/ pricing software skills and CAD familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates from drawings, specs, and addenda using pricing software.
• Identify exclusions and clarify quotations.
• Provide adds or alternates for pricing beyond current tools.
• Ensure pricing uses current information.
• Build and maintain builder/vendor relationships.
• Coordinate with Builders, Sales, Customer Service, and Engineering.
• Manage multiple workflows and priorities.
• Continuously improve productivity and accuracy.
• Report to Estimating Manager; travel not typical.

Job Description

Metal Sales is part of the Cornerstone Building Brands family, strengthening our commitment to serving our communities where we live, work, and play with quality and innovative metal building solutions.

• Prepares estimates from information received such as contract drawings, specifications, and addendums using in‑house pricing software, supplemental design and pricing programs and information obtained from vendors
• Identifies exclusions, discrepancies, missing information and obtains clarification and qualifies the quotation based on that information
• Provides adds, deducts, or alternates as requested to estimates that require special pricing beyond the current capabilities of the pricing software
• Ensures the use of the most current pricing information when preparing the estimate
• Builds and maintains Builder/Vendor relationships
• Communicates with Builders, Sales, Customer Service and Engineering regarding any clarification of scope/design intent that the Estimator was involved in
• Manages and prioritizes multiple workflows simultaneously
• Continually improves productivity, accuracy and ability
• Understand the role in the overall system and be willing to step outside that role
• Reports to Estimating Manager
• Travel is not typical, however for training purposes it may be requested

Qualifications

• Good mathematical and analytical skills

• Exhibit competency of in‑house design programs and procedures

Additional Information

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $26 - $33 / hour + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
