Job summary

ATR International is looking for a skilled Component Engineer based in Irvine, CA. This role involves providing support during DVT and design release phases, focusing on risk reduction and compliance.

The ideal candidate will bridge Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure robust component selections and designs. Responsibilities include reviewing mechanical drawings, participating in design reviews, and supporting supply chain activities to ensure readiness for production.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years in component engineering is required. Knowledge of medical devices and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in component engineering, hardware engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Experience supporting product development through DVT and design release phases.
  • Experience in a regulated environment (medical device preferred).
  • Strong understanding of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical components.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in DVT readiness and design reviews to identify component risks.
  • Support design transfer activities for manufacturing release.
  • Review drawings for dimensional accuracy and tolerance risks.
  • Act as liaison between Engineering and Supply Chain.
