Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Component Cleaning & Refurbishment Assistant Supervisor at Kennedy Space Center. The role leads a team responsible for precision cleaning of flight and ground support equipment, and requires strong leadership and deep knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly and testing.

You will review plans, ensure safety, and interface with government and non-government customers. Off-shift support may be required on occasion, with a focus on meeting schedules and quality

Qualifications

• 7 years of related experience.
• Leadership of represented team members.
• Experience in precision cleaning of fluid systems or components.
• Extensive knowledge in mechanical/electro-mechanical fluid component assembly, disassembly, and testing (pneumatic/hydrostatic/hydraulic/cryogenic/electrical).
• Excellent communication and customer interface skills.
• Must be a US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Component Cleaning & Refurbishment Team in precision cleaning of flight and ground support equipment.
• Review and approve detailed cleaning plans that direct activities.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Act as the technical interface between government and non-government customers.
• Support development of test plans, schedules, budgets, and reports.
• Monitor technical performance to ensure quality and schedule compliance.

LOCATION: Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, FL

JOB STATUS: Fulltime - On-site

TRAVEL: Limited: as needed

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Component Cleaning & Refurbishment Assistant Supervisor for the Laboratory Support Services and Operations II Contract, supporting the Space Division. Off shift support may be required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Leadership of represented team members
• Experience in precision cleaning of fluid systems or components.
• Extensive knowledge in mechanical and electro-mechanical fluid component assembly and disassembly; pneumatic, hydrostatic, hydraulic, cryogenic and electrical testing of components.
• Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills required.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects without missing deadlines or sacrificing accuracy.
• Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint.
• 7 years of related experience
• U.S. Citizenship is required

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or other technical discipline.
