Job summary

Digital Monitoring Products in Springfield, MO is seeking a compliance engineer to ensure our security products meet UL, FCC, NFPA and other standards. You will collaborate with hardware engineering and product management across the development lifecycle to drive certification readiness and issue resolution.

Required 5+ years in electronic security testing, a BS in Electronics/Hardware or related field, and hands-on lab skills with oscilloscopes, stimulators, data analyzers and environmental

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electronics/hardware engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of testing and troubleshooting experience within electronic security.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and certification requirements for electronic security products.
  • Experience with compliance laboratories and testing procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with common lab equipment (oscilloscopes, stimulators, analyzers, environmental chambers).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate product compliance projects with certification agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform hardware testing in our compliance lab to support new product development and certification efforts.
  • Ensure products meet applicable industry standards (UL, ETL, FCC, Intertek, ULC, NFPA).
  • Prepare and maintain compliance documentation, test plans, reports, certifications, and submission records.
  • Track milestones, testing schedules, certification timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Hardware Engineering and Product Management throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Investigate failed compliance tests, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate corrective actions, and manage retesting.
  • Evaluate engineering changes for impact on product certifications.
  • Maintain calibrated test equipment and lab inventory.
  • Support audits with documentation and evidence.
  • Respond to compliance questions from customers and Technical Support.
  • Improve testing processes and documentation for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Represent the company in UL and NFPA standards development activities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience

What You'll Do

  • Support internal and external compliance audits by organizing documentation and required evidence.
  • Serve as a technical resource by responding to compliance-related questions from customers and Technical Support.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and documentation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Represent the company in UL and NFPA standards development activities.
  • Provide regular updates on testing progress and compliance project status.
  • Maintain technical expertise on company products and applicable industry standards.
  • Support additional technical initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed.
What We're Looking For

Qualifications Include
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of testing and troubleshooting experience within the electronic security industry.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and certification requirements for electronic security products.
  • Experience working with compliance laboratories and testing procedures.
  • Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, transient stimulators, data analyzers, environmental chambers, and similar laboratory equipment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience testing or troubleshooting DMP products is a plus, but not required.
  • Previous compliance lab or certification experience is a plus, but not required.
