Job summary

Crypto.com is seeking a Compliance Senior Data Analyst to advance data workflows, leveraging SQL and Python to support Global Regulatory Reporting and ensure timely, accurate licensing and tax reporting.

The role is hands-on, independent, and collaborative across teams and time zones, with Jira-based tracking, data quality controls, and process automation. A strong data-analysis background and interest in crypto are essential.

Qualifications

• Write efficient SQL queries across large datasets.

• Exposure to cross-functional projects and intercompany initiatives, with occasional need to collaborate outside regular hours to accommodate colleagues in different time zones.
• Exposure to financial services, with focus in regulatory and/or tax reporting within banking/fintech a plus.
• Understanding of cryptocurrencies or a strong interest in learning.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and ongoing execution of CARF and Form 1099-DA reporting requirements, including data extraction, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries and data workflows to identify reportable users, transactions, digital assets, proceeds, cost basis, and other required reporting data elements.
• Perform data analysis and validation to assess accuracy, completeness, and consistency of CARF and 1099-DA reporting populations and outputs.
• Support development and execution of data quality controls and reconciliations, including investigation and remediation of exceptions.
• Partner with Compliance, Tax, Finance, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to translate CARF and 1099-DA requirements into data and system requirements.
• Support CARF jurisdictional implementation, including identification and tracking of reporting requirements, data specifications, deadlines, and implementation dependencies across jurisdictions.
• Support 1099-DA reporting processes, including customer data, transaction reporting, cost-basis information, corrections, and downstream reporting requirements.
• Track implementation activities, dependencies, defects, and remediation through Jira, providing clear status reporting and escalation of risks or blockers.
• Document data lineage, reporting logic, controls, procedures, and workflows to establish repeatable and auditable reporting processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate and scale data preparation, validation, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
• Support testing of new reporting functionality and system changes, including requirements validation, UAT, and production output validation.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits, and internal inquiries.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

We’re looking for a Compliance Senior Data Analyst with deep SQL expertise, strong logical reasoning skills, and the ability to use Python, APIs, or similar tools to automate data workflows. This role contributes to the Global Regulatory Reporting team, which is responsible for meeting our global licensing and tax reporting obligations. In this role, you’ll develop a strong understanding of Crypto.com’s products and data flows to support timely and accurate regulatory reporting.

This is a hands‑on position suited to someone who is comfortable working independently through complex data problems, communicates clearly, and collaborates effectively across teams and time zones. They will possess skills in data analytics, SQL, Python, Jira, large dataset analysis, data reconciliation/validation, and API based integrations. Experience working with APIs and webhooks to integrate with third‑party platforms is a strong plus.
