Job summary

The Fair Banking & Regulatory Program (FBRP) team at Truist is seeking a Compliance Officer to join its Fair Banking Advisory team. This role supports Fair Lending and regulatory compliance oversight across consumer lending products, services, and business units nationwide.

The successful candidate will partner with Compliance, Risk, Audit and business stakeholders to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate Fair Lending risk while ensuring regulatory requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent.
  • Two years of compliance-related experience.
  • Five years of financial institution experience.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate and present to all levels of management.
  • Leadership experience to guide junior consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain understanding of applicable laws and provide regulatory guidance.
  • Review regulatory changes and assess impacts.
  • Manage compliance risk communications, training, documentation.

The Fair Banking & Regulatory Program (FBRP) team is seeking a Compliance Officer to join its Fair Banking Advisory team. This role supports Fair Lending and Fair Banking compliance oversight across a broad range of consumer lending products, services, and business units throughout Truist. The Compliance Officer will partner with Compliance, Risk, Audit, Analytics, Forensic File Review, and business stakeholders to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate Fair Lending risk while helping ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include supporting complaint reviews, risk assessments, regulatory change management activities, compliance monitoring and reporting, governance processes, model review activities, and advisory support. This position offers significant exposure to enterprise-wide Fair Lending initiatives, regulatory compliance, risk management, and cross-functional partnerships while providing visibility into nearly all consumer lending products and services across the organization. The successful candidate will help promote a culture of compliance and risk management, support effective governance and issue remediation, and maintain awareness of evolving Fair Lending regulations, regulatory expectations, and industry developments.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain an understanding of all applicable laws, rules and regulations applicable to coverage areas and provide regulatory guidance to assigned business unit and/or function associates.
  • Review regulatory changes and assess the impact those changes may have on assigned business units and/or functions.
  • Manage compliance risk management communications, training, documentation, procedures, and processes.
  • Monitor and communicate compliance risk management industry developments.
  • Implement strategies and methods related to the compliance risk management framework within the organization, including quality assessments, key risk, and performance measurement data, along with oversight monitoring and mitigation strategies.
  • Assess process, procedure and control documentation and other related compliance issues and documentation to help ensure they are accurate and easily understood by audit and/or external regulatory agencies
  • Consult with business and/or functional units with respect to the design and implementation of remediation efforts as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Two years of compliance-related experience
  • Five years of financial institution experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of standard compliance concepts, practices, policies and related state and federal laws.
  • Detail orientated and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills; proven ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced compliance consultants and analysts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • 5 years of experience in the financial services industry within audit or compliance.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience.
  • Completion of the American Bankers Association (ABA) Compliance School or CRCM certification

To comply with the Virginia pay transparency statue and for work location in VA only, the annual base salary for this position is $88,000-$110,000.

General Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of Truist Financial Corporation: All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position.
