Job summary

Planters Bank & Trust Company seeks a Compliance Manager to lead the Compliance Department’s day‑to‑day operations and oversee the bank's compliance management system. You will support the Compliance Officer and coordinate enterprise‑level compliance activities across business units.

The role requires leadership, regulatory knowledge, and strong communication skills to ensure adherence to consumer protection regulations and successful regulatory examinations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5–7 years of banking compliance, risk management, audit, or regulatory experience preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of leadership, supervisory, or project management experience preferred.
• CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) preferred.
• Experience with consumer lending regulations and compliance monitoring programs.
• Experience supporting regulatory examinations and audits preferred.
• Strong understanding of consumer protection regulations (Reg Z, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, Fair Lending, Flood regulations, UDAAP/UDAP, FCRA, Regulation E).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel; Power BI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the bank's compliance management system on a day-to-day basis.
• Coordinate regulatory change implementation, staff training, and examination readiness.
• Support the Compliance Officer and act as primary backup.
• Collaborate with business units to promote a culture of compliance.
• Monitor, track, and report on compliance activities and issues.
• Manage complaint handling and policy administration.
