Position Summary
The Compliance Manager performs compliance monitoring, tenant file reviews, deficiency tracking, and corrective action follow-up across MDHA-managed and third-party managed properties. The role operates under the day-to-day direction of the Senior Compliance Manager and the overall leadership of the Director of Compliance and Risk Management, with responsibility for carrying out standardized control activities that support audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and portfolio oversight.
This person works closely with the Senior Compliance Manager, addressing compliance determinations, high-risk findings, systemic issues, and recommended corrective action strategies that are escalated through the Senior Compliance Manager to the Director for final review and approval.
Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, finance, management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Three to five years of experience in affordable housing compliance, occupancy, or property management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex regulatory issues clearly.
Working knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, HOME, PBRA, and FSS program requirements. Experience conducting file reviews, identifying deficiencies, and tracking corrective action completion.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through. The ability to perform work with or without accommodation requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk; dexterity of the hands; clarity of vision, speech, and hearing; the power of observation; and other physical duties as required. Excellent organizational, administrative, and documentation skills.
