The ideal candidate will work with labs and overseas suppliers to ensure Declarations of Conformity and labeling meet FCC, CE, UKCA, RoHS, FDA, and related standards across key markets.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in product compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory affairs.
• Strong understanding of global compliance standards across consumer goods categories.
• Experience working with testing labs and overseas suppliers (China preferred).
• Ability to interpret technical test reports and regulatory documentation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

A New York-based wholesale and design company is seeking a highly detail-oriented Product Compliance Manager to oversee all product compliance, certification, and testing requirements across multiple consumer product categories. This role will ensure all products meet global regulatory standards and are fully approved for distribution across key markets.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of international compliance requirements, experience working with testing labs and overseas vendors, and the ability to manage documentation and approvals across a high volume of SKUs.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Certification Management

• Oversee compliance requirements across multiple product categories including electronics, kitchen, cleaning, and beauty
• Ensure adherence to global regulations including FCC, CE, UKCA, RCM, RoHS, FDA, and other applicable standards
• Manage required certifications such as Bluetooth SIG and other category-specific approvals
• Prepare and maintain Declarations of Conformity (DoC) for all products

Testing Oversight

• Identify required testing protocols based on product category and market
• Oversee testing processes including:
• EMC/EMI and electrical safety testing
• RF and wireless testing
• Battery testing (UN38.3, thermal, overcharge, short circuit)
• Food contact and material safety testing
• Chemical and ingredient compliance
• Stability, microbiological, and shelf-life testing
• Ensure all testing is completed accurately and on time prior to shipment

Test Report & Documentation Management

• Review and interpret test reports end-to-end for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain organized records of all certifications, reports, and compliance documents
• Prepare documentation for internal teams, customers, and retail partners as needed
• Ensure all compliance documentation is up to date and readily accessible
• Communicate directly with third-party testing labs to define requirements and timelines
• Identify and partner with reliable and cost-effective labs, including overseas providers
• Coordinate with suppliers and factories to ensure proper testing protocols are followed
• Manage vendor compliance and ensure adherence to regulatory standards

Packaging & Labeling Compliance

• Ensure all product packaging includes required regulatory markings (e.g., FCC, CE, UKCA, recycling symbols)
• Verify accuracy of product labels, warnings, and usage instructions
• Confirm correct format, placement, and content of all compliance-related labeling

Quality Control & Inspection

• Oversee or coordinate quality control inspections to ensure compliance standards are met
• Confirm test reports align with production output and final products
• Ensure compliance is maintained across all production runs and shipments
