Job description

ABOUT INSPECTED

Inspected is a fast-growing, tech-enabled construction technology company revolutionizing remote inspections and permitting for the construction industry. We serve homebuilders, HVAC, solar, roofing, pool, and commercial and residential contractors across Florida, Texas, and Tennessee — with North Carolina and additional markets coming soon.

We are one of South Florida’s fastest-growing companies with 100% growth for three consecutive years. Our proprietary platform, Permit Hub, is transforming a process that once took months into one that takes days. This is a high-energy, high-growth environment where every team member makes a real and visible impact on our customers and our mission.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Compliance Lead provides day-to-day regulatory leadership for municipal registration, jurisdiction activation, multi-state expansion, and operational compliance. This position reviews legal and regulatory requirements, resolves workflow conflicts, approves activation readiness, directs escalations, and ensures that internal teams receive accurate and actionable guidance.

As Inspected expands rapidly into Texas and North Carolina, the Compliance Lead plays a critical role in ensuring every new jurisdiction is activated correctly, compliantly, and efficiently — and that the team has the structure, SOPs, and guidance to scale without introducing regulatory risk.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Regulatory Leadership & Oversight
  • Lead the daily work of the Research and Registration/Activation functions; maintain visibility into priorities, aging items, workload, and roadblocks
  • Review state statutes, administrative rules, licensing requirements, reciprocity provisions, municipal ordinances, and jurisdictional procedures affecting company operations
  • Evaluate municipal requests against applicable statutory authority and determine whether requirements are supported, unclear, duplicative, or appropriate for escalation
  • Approve registration and activation workflows before a jurisdiction is made operational
  • Prohibit activation when registration, documentation, statutory review, system configuration, or operational readiness is incomplete
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes in current and expansion states and assess their impact on registration, plan review, inspections, reporting, scheduling, and closeout operations
Escalation & Resolution
  • Direct higher-level outreach for municipal non-response, disputed requirements, rejected registrations, operational holds, or inconsistent procedures
  • Develop professional statutory correspondence, escalation letters, clarification requests, and structured responses to municipal officials
  • Maintain an escalation framework that identifies ownership, required documentation, contact history, risk level, deadlines, and resolution
  • Provide final guidance on recurring registration and operational compliance issues and convert confirmed resolutions into standardized workflows
  • Ensure the company operates only within its authorized scope; promptly escalation matters requiring legal counsel, licensed professionals, or emergency authorities
Expansion & Onboarding
  • Coordinate new-state and new-jurisdiction onboarding including legal setup, licensing, registrations, insurance, approved forms, operational procedures, and internal launch readiness
  • Ensure municipal records, master lists, Permit Hub settings, operational notes, forms, licenses, and insurance documents remain accurate and aligned
  • Partner with inspection, plan review, customer service, scheduling, reporting, closeout, permitting, legal, and leadership teams to resolve compliance-related operational delays
  • Identify patterns in municipal issues and implement long-term corrective actions, training, templates, and controls
SOPs, Reporting & Standards
  • Maintain department SOPs, accountability standards, audit procedures, performance measures, and training requirements
  • Review and approve internal communications before unresolved or sensitive compliance information is distributed broadly
  • Provide management reporting on registrations, activations, aging items, escalations, regulatory risks, and expansion readiness
  • Convert confirmed decisions into updated SOPs, templates, training, system notes, and audit controls
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Required
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in regulatory compliance, municipal permitting, licensing, construction administration, building-department operations, or a related field

  • Demonstrated ability to research and interpret statutes, administrative rules, ordinances, policies, and procedural requirements
  • Strong professional writing, negotiation, escalation, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Strong judgment with the ability to distinguish operational issues from regulatory, legal, safety, or licensure risks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM systems, Permit Hub or comparable operational platforms, and document-management systems
Preferred
  • Working knowledge of Private Provider or third-party plan review and inspection programs, municipal registration, and construction permitting
  • Experience managing compliance workflows across multiple states simultaneously
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
  • Accuracy and timeliness of compliance determinations and activation approvals
  • Age and resolution rate of municipal escalations and regulatory roadblocks
  • Percentage of jurisdictions activated without preventable operational or documentation defects
  • Timeliness of statutory and regulatory change implementation

  • Reduction in recurring registration, activation, and municipal-process issues
