Job summary

Meijer Inc. is offering a Compliance Intern position within its corporate compliance team in Grand Rapids. You will engage in hands-on experiences across environmental, food safety, workplace safety, and product compliance areas while gaining exposure to senior leaders.

You will build practical knowledge in compliance programs, risk assessment, and data-driven decision making, with opportunities for professional development and networking throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, finance, management, or a related field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Independent thinker with strong critical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter who can handle ambiguity and try new things.
• Capable of building relationships with emotional intelligence.
• Comfort in a corporate environment, including senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Support the Compliance team across multiple areas (Environmental, Food Safety, Workplace Safety, Recall, Product Compliance, Fuel Compliance, SNAP/WIC, Alcohol & Tobacco).
• Assist with data analysis, research, and risk assessments.
• Prepare internal presentations and contribute to executive communications.
• Learn and apply government enforcement trends in emerging legal areas.
