Job summary

IDEMIA Secure Transactions’ Chantilly site seeks a Compliance / EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, safety, regulatory, physical security, and PCI compliance. You will develop and audit programs, evaluate risk, lead investigations, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional partners to maintain a safe, secure, and audit-ready operation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in EHS, regulatory compliance, or site compliance within a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements and experience developing, implementing, and auditing safety and environmental programs.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, leading incident investigations and root-cause analyses, and managing corrective actions to closure.
  • Experience supporting regulatory, customer, or certification audits and maintaining audit-ready records and programs.
  • Strong judgment, organization, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Ability to respond to urgent site safety, environmental, security, or emergency matters as business needs require.

Responsibilities

Overview: The Compliance / EHS Manager provides site leadership for environmental, health, safety, regulatory, physical security, and PCI compliance. This role develops and audits programs, evaluates operational risk, leads incident investigations and corrective actions, and partners across the organization to maintain a safe, secure, environmentally responsible, and audit-ready work

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory, EHS & Compliance Management
  • Lead site compliance with applicable OSHA and EPA requirements, environmental permits, PCI standards, physical security requirements, corporate policies, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain a regulatory and compliance calendar; monitor changes in requirements and translate them into site procedures, controls, training, documentation, and operating practices.
  • Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory inspections, compliance assessments, and internal, customer, and third-party audits; coordinate evidence, responses, and timely closure of findings.
  • Maintain accurate records, permits, plans, logs, and reports required for audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Safety & Environmental Programs
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve site safety and environmental programs, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, ergonomics, PPE, chemical management, waste management, and other applicable programs.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections and program audits to identify hazards, control gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish and monitor EHS objectives, leading indicators, lagging indicators, and action plans; communicate trends, priorities, and performance to site leadership.
  • Coordinate required EHS training and awareness activities and verify employee understanding and program effectiveness.
  • Lead job safety analyses, risk assessments, pre-startup reviews, ergonomic evaluations, and management-of-change reviews for equipment, processes, chemicals, layouts, and facility modifications.
  • Lead investigations of injuries, near misses, environmental events, security incidents, and compliance nonconformances using structured root-cause methods.
  • Develop, assign, track, and verify corrective and preventive actions to ensure sustainable risk reduction and timely closure.
  • Analyze incident, audit, and operational data to identify trends and recommend controls based on the hierarchy of controls.
Physical Security & Emergency Preparedness
  • Partner with site and corporate security stakeholders to maintain physical security controls, access-control practices, visitor management, secure-area requirements, and PCI-related safeguards.
  • Maintain site emergency action, evacuation, severe weather, fire prevention, spill response, and business continuity procedures in coordination with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Plan and lead emergency drills, document outcomes, and drive improvements based on lessons learned.
  • Coordinate with local emergency responders and other external agencies, as appropriate.
Contractor Safety, Audits & Safety Culture
  • Own the contractor safety program, including prequalification, orientation, work permits, hazard communication, monitoring, and post-work performance review.
  • Lead compliance and EHS audit schedules, communicate findings, and partner with accountable leaders to close actions effectively and on time.
  • Coach leaders and employees on safe work practices, regulatory responsibilities, security expectations, and proactive hazard identification.
  • Promote employee participation through safety committees, observations, near-miss reporting, recognition, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Advise site leadership on material compliance risks, resource needs, and priorities, and elevate significant issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Human Resources, Facilities, Security, and corporate subject-matter experts to embed compliance into day-to-day operations and new initiatives.
  • Manage external consultants, service providers, and vendors supporting EHS, environmental, security, or compliance programs, as needed.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in EHS, regulatory compliance, or site compliance within a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements and experience developing, implementing, and auditing safety and environmental programs.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, leading incident investigations and root-cause analyses, and managing corrective actions to closure.
  • Experience supporting regulatory, customer, or certification audits and maintaining audit-ready records and programs.
  • Strong judgment, organization, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Ability to respond to urgent site safety, environmental, security, or emergency matters as business needs require.
Preferred
  • Experience with PCI requirements, physical security programs, access controls, and secure manufacturing or personalization environments.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, CMMC, or comparable management-system frameworks.
  • Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, CIH, or equivalent; OSHA 30-hour training is also valued.
  • Experience managing contractor safety, emergency preparedness, environmental permitting and reporting, and agency inspections.
  • Lean Six Sigma or continuous-improvement experience.
