Job summary

State of Mississippi, Medicaid Division, is hiring an Auditor II to support internal control and compliance audits across Medicaid processes. The role includes planning, risk assessment, data analytics, and regulatory interpretation to deliver clear audit reports for Medicaid staff.

The candidate will use Smartsheet or a GRC tool to track audits, engage cross-functional teams, and present findings to management.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience.
• Preferred certifications: CIA, CPA, CMA, CISA, CFE, or CRMA.
• If not certified, actively pursuing auditing/fraud/risk/compliance certs within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing the Internal Control Plan and Internal Control Assessment.
• Develop detailed, compliant audit plans and identify risks.
• Perform systematic reviews of operational processes.
• Review accuracy of Medicaid documentation.
• Translate complex regulations for Medicaid staff.
• Prepare clear audit workpapers and reports.
• Conduct regulatory research and use data analytics to spot patterns and risks.
• Track audits using Smartsheet or a GRC tool.
• Present audit findings to Medicaid staff; submit weekly priorities to the Compliance Audit Manager.
• Engage team in a collaborative environment; pursue professional growth in auditing/compliance.
