Job summary

The Compliance Analyst Sr. for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Compliance team at the company’s Houston office reporting to the Chief Compliance Counsel.

Specific Responsibilities

The Compliance Analyst Sr. for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Compliance team at the company’s Houston office reporting to the Chief Compliance Counsel.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

• Governance
  • Compliance and Ethics department in designing, implementing, and maintaining governance frameworks/controls/systems.
  • Support of the execution of functional strategy, framework, controls/systems, and operational direction of the Department.
  • Support of day-to‑day operation of all elements of the compliance and ethics program. Advise on specific requirements for the program.
• Guidance, Communications, and Training
  • Develops and reviews various program documents and communications.
  • Provides guidance and counseling on compliance and ethics issues. Serve as a business partner to functional and/or regional business units and leaders.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance (including continual improvement) of compliance and ethics policies, procedures, guidance, practices, training, awareness, and communications.
• Risk Management, Analytics, Monitoring, & Investigations
  • Assists in managing and maintaining risk assessments and pragmatic solutions to identify risks.
  • Assists in managing and tracking legal and regulatory developments and research related to compliance and ethics and provide updates to the compliance and ethics management, business partners, senior leadership, and support functions as appropriate.
  • Supports the Company’s compliance due diligence program.
  • Supports of internal investigations and assists in establishing and maintaining the Company Ethics Line including metrics and analytics.
  • Supports development and maintenance of metrics related to investigations, third party due diligence, training, other compliance-related topics for purposes of internal reporting and dissemination, and other data-driven analytics for reporting remediation efforts and compliance trending metrics.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification from an accredited institution
• 6+ years of compliance-related work experience, project management, or consulting.
• Knowledge and experience related to:
  • Bribery and anti-corruption laws (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act)
  • Third-party risk management (e.g., anti-money laundering, fraud, human rights, economic sanctions)
  • Internal Investigation or auditing and/or
  • Project management
  • Knowledge or experience with Trade compliance regulations (e.g., export controls, economic sanctions, antiboycott), competition/antitrust law, data privacy / protection regulations, a plus.
• Oil and gas industry experience is not required but is a plus.
• NAVEX experience is preferred but not required.
