The Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that client insurance requirements are met and maintained across assigned accounts. The role reviews Certificates of Insurance and coverage documentation against established compliance criteria and client requirements, manages renewal tracking and certificate follow-up, and coordinates with insurance agents, management companies, and other external partners to obtain and correct documentation. Operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, the Compliance Analyst reviews and interprets insurance policies against required standards, documents deficiencies, escalates complex or non-standard issues to senior compliance colleagues, and prepares monitoring reports for internal and client review. The role protects the interests of the firm and its clients by working accurately within established procedures and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
Working knowledge of commercial and personal insurance coverage types, policy structures, and Certificate of Insurance requirements. Ability to read and interpret insurance policies, endorsements, and property master lists against established standards and checklists. Ability to identify and document coverage deficiencies accurately and to escalate complex or non-standard issues appropriately. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing coverage and documenting compliance findings. Ability to manage multiple renewal cycles and competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and the ability to learn agency management and certificate-tracking systems, such as Applied Epic or comparable platforms. Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with insurance agents, management companies, and clients.
Compliance & Governance: Reviews coverage and documentation against contractual and program insurance requirements using established criteria, identifies non-compliance, and follows compliance procedures to obtain corrections.
Policy Administration & Processing: Manages certificate intake, renewal requests, and document maintenance across the client servicing and document management systems.
Reporting & Documentation: Produces monthly compliance monitoring reports and maintains accurate, audit-ready records of certificate status and resolution activity.
Workflow Execution: Runs the renewal and follow-up cadence reliably, working expiration reports and outstanding-certificate queues to keep assigned accounts current.
Contractual Risk Transfer: Checks that Certificates of Insurance and coverage terms meet the insurance requirements outlined in client agreements, and flags gaps for correction or escalation.
Insurance Acumen: Reviews insurance policies, endorsements, and coverage terms against required standards to confirm certificates are in order.
