Responsibilities

• Preparing appropriate, timely responses to insurance consumer complaints from State Insurance Departments.
• Maintaining state compliance logs.
• Assisting General Counsel with regulatory reports preparation and filing.
• Assess risks and identify potential compliance vulnerabilities.
• Assist in identifying and addressing compliance risks with legal counsel and executive team.
• Monitor regulatory changes and bulletins from state departments and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare communications regarding moratoria, bulletins, or notices from State Insurance Departments.
• Assist with summaries of litigated claims in suit.
• Assist with compliance audits.
• Prepare and review materials for internal/external regulatory audits and data calls.
• Partner with business segments in preparation for audits and examinations, including remediation plans.

Overview:

SageSure is assisting one of its insurance carrier partners in seeking a Compliance Analyst.

This role offers a valuable opportunity to grow with the insurance company, its parent, and its affiliated managing insurance agency as operations are expanded. The individual in this position will provide support to a highly experienced and capable General Counsel along with a dynamic team of other dedicated professionals who are committed to excellence in their work. Primary responsibilities include responding to consumer complaints, coordinating internal audits, facilitating corporate governance, and researching regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with insurance regulations, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver work products with a high level of accuracy while consistently meeting related deadlines.

What you’d be doing:

• Preparing appropriate, timely responses to insurance consumer complaints received from State Insurance Departments.
• Maintaining state compliance logs.
• Assisting General Counsel with the preparation and filing of regulatory reports.
• Assess risks and identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability.
• Assist legal counsel and executive team in identifying and addressing potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and review regulatory changes, bulletins, and statistical reporting issued by state insurance departments and other regulatory bodies.
• Prepare and issue communications regarding State Insurance Department moratoria, bulletins, or notices.
• Assist with preparing and updating summaries of litigated claims in suit.
• Assist with compliance audits.
• Assist in the preparation and review of materials and information required in response to internal and external regulatory audits, data calls and surveys and assist in drafting responsive communications to the requesting parties or regulatory authorities.
• Partner with the applicable business segments in preparation of and response to internal and external audits and examinations, including remediation plans resulting from such audits and exams.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant regulatory compliance experience
• Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, in a timely manner, on a continual basis under strict deadlines.
• Strong planning, organization, and follow-up skills.
• Excellent PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Highly Preferred Candidates Also Have:

• Compliance experience in personal lines insurance
• Experience preparing responses to consumer complaints
