Apple Federal Credit Union in Fairfax, Virginia, is seeking a Compliance Analyst to facilitate the development and maintenance of compliance programs. Responsibilities include monitoring changes in regulatory compliance laws, analyzing regulatory responses, and developing compliance policies.
The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS in a related field and a compliance certification. Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks are essential.
Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, facilitates the development, implementation and maintenance of internal and external Compliance Management Program and performance of the primary duties and responsibilities listed below. While implementing or recommending action to ensure compliance and minimize risk, the Compliance Analyst should be conscious of streamlining efforts, cost effectiveness, safety and soundness, and proper maintenance of the internal control structure. Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Undertake other work‑related duties as assigned by the Compliance Officer. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles, of Team Up, Serve With Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It.
BA/BS in related field preferred. The America’s Credit Unions Certified Credit Union Compliance Officer Certification or equivalent required within 1 year from hire date.
BA/BS in related field. Compliance certification required.
BSA experience. Excellent analytical ability and ability to conduct thorough research, interpret and understand laws and regulations, and provide workable recommendations and solutions to problems. Broad knowledge of, and practical experience with, credit union or other financial institution operating areas, functions, products and services and the laws and regulations which apply to credit unions. Well‑organized, efficient, detail‑oriented self‑starter, able to work independently. Ability to handle simultaneously, multiple tasks and changing priorities in an efficient and effective manner. The ability to work with all levels of management and credit union staff, and members.
The ability to lift 25 lbs. and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc.
