Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology

Job description

Join a well established private practice associated with Providence Medical Group in Spokane, Washington. This role offers the chance to join a mission-driven organization known for clinical excellence, robust support, and a collegial practice environment. We are seeking a Fellowship trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist to augment our robust service line.

Complex pediatric otolaryngology plays a critical role in patient care delivery at Providence Sacred Heart Children's Hospital, which has 160 beds including full NICU and PICU services. Patients are treated for a full spectrum of conditions. An aerodigestive team consisting of specialists in gastroenterology, pulmonology, genetics, and speech language pathology convenes regularly to deliver coordinated care for the most complex presentations. The children's hospital is attached to Sacred Heart Medical Center, which has more than 600 additional beds for adult patients and provides level II trauma services to the entire inland northwest.

Although the position is oriented towards CPO, applicants can also expect to deliver "bread and butter" outpatient pediatric otolaryngology in the Ambulatory Surgery Center owned by Columbia Surgical Specialists and housed within our main outpatient clinical facility.

The ENT group consists of ~10 otolaryngologists (with subspecialists in H&N/microvascular, rhinology/anterior skull base, and pediatrics), 3 midlevel providers, and 7 audiologists. Call is about 1 in 10 without facial trauma requirements. Most physicians hold academic positions with the University of Washington as well as Washington State University, both of which have medical students who complete all 4 years of school in Spokane. The opportunity for partnership is entertained after 1 year of employment and under most circumstances occurs within 2 years.

  • Compensation is between $400,000 and $600,000 per year
  • Starting salary is competitive
  • bonus program augments it
  • no state income tax
  • full benefits are included
  • productivity or quality/service incentives
  • call pay
  • extra shift incentives
  • providers may have CME benefits available to them

Spokane is in Eastern Washington and is the medical hub of the inland northwest. The metro area has a population of 600k and our geographic catchment holds about 2M people. We field referrals from a>200 mile radius. Cost of living remains affordable, especially when compared with metropolitan areas home to practices our size. Many physicians in the group frequent lakefront property or slopeside homes within 90 minutes of downtown for world-class skiing, watersports, fishing, cycling, and hiking. Most of us commute about 10 minutes to our 30,000 sq ft downtown office, through neighborhoods, without any highway traffic.
