We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across a large, multi-site manufacturing and distribution operation. What You'll Do
As the Environmental Manager, you will serve as the subject matter expert for environmental compliance and management systems while supporting operational excellence across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead environmental compliance programs and ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Manage environmental permits, renewals, reporting requirements, and regulatory documentation.
- Partner with site leadership to develop and maintain effective environmental management systems.
- Monitor environmental performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans and guide facilities through successful implementation.
- Provide environmental training and coaching to managers and employees.
- Serve as the primary liaison with environmental regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, spill response activities, and remediation efforts when required.
- Oversee environmental consultants and contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, effectively, and in compliance.
- Stay current on changing environmental regulations and industry best practices, proactively identifying impacts to operations.
- Foster a culture of environmental accountability, sustainability, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Environmental Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of environmental compliance, environmental management, manufacturing, industrial, or related experience.
- Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance programs.
- Experience managing environmental audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and environmental reporting systems.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with leaders and employees across all levels of the organization.
- Willingness to travel between assigned facilities as needed.
