Job summary

The Detroit Tigers are seeking a Complex Coordinator to manage scheduling and implementation of all on-field activities at the Tigers complex in Lakeland, FL, for the 2027 minor league season. This year-round role is based at the Lakeland facility and works closely with the Player Development & Performance Departments.

Responsibilities include coordinating field staff needs for spring training and rehab, onboarding players for Draft Camp, leading daily schedules with Medical and Performance

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage and coordinate several schedules.
• Strong communication skills.
• Year-round position requiring relocation or commuting to Lakeland, FL, and presence 5-6 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Player Development leadership by coordinating scheduling and implementation of all on-field activity at the Lakeland complex, including Major and minor league rehabilitation, spring training, extended spring training, and any informal preseason and postseason activity at the facility.
• Coordinate scheduling and field staff needs during Major League and Minor League spring training, instructional league, and off-season programs.
• Assist in onboarding of new players and in planning and executing Draft Camp.
• Assist in daily staff meetings during spring training, providing details on daily schedule, continuing education, and connection between all departments.
• Take a lead role collaborating with Medical and Performance staff creating the daily schedule and staffing needs during Major and Minor League rehabilitation.
• Lead all on field and hitting work with rehabbing Major and Minor league players as needed.
• Assist the Florida Complex League manager with scheduling and field staff needs during extended spring training and the Florida Complex League season.
• Perform on-field duties such as throwing batting practice, hitting fungoes, feeding machines as needed throughout the calendar year for players on site in Lakeland.
• Report and comment on daily work in the internal reporting system.

The Detroit Tigers are seeking a Complex Coordinator to handle scheduling and implementation of all pre-season, in-season, and postseason on-field activities at the Tigers complex in Lakeland, FL, for the 2027 minor league season. This position is based year-round at the Tigers Lakeland, Florida facility and works closely with all members of the Detroit Tigers Player Development & Performance Departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Player Development leadership by coordinating scheduling and implementation of all on-field activity at the Lakeland complex, including but not limited to Major and minor league rehabilitation, spring training, extended spring training, and any informal preseason and postseason activity taking place at the facility.

• Coordinate scheduling and field staff needs during Major League and Minor League spring training, instructional league, and off-season programs.

• This is a year-round position, and the candidate must be willing to relocate or commute to Lakeland, FL, and be present at the facility 5-6 days per week, depending on the time of year.

Preferred:

• Baseball playing experience at the professional or collegiate level.
• Fluency or working proficiency in Spanish.
