Job summary

Hilton San Francisco Union Square and Parc 55 seek a Complex Assistant Executive Steward to oversee stewarding operations, manage inventory, and coordinate high-volume food and beverage service with a focus on hospitality and compliance.

You will lead daily lineups, monitor sanitation, handle scheduling, and develop the team in a fast-paced, union-aware convention hotel environment, with opportunities for growth and travel benefits.

Qualifications

  • Must have 2+ years of hotel/convention steward management experience.
  • Experience in large convention hotels or high-volume resorts preferred.
  • Proficiency with Word/Excel, BirchStreet (inventory & ordering), and UniFocus (scheduling/labor).

Responsibilities

  • Support inventory control, including distribution, storage, and maintenance of china, glassware, linen, and silver.
  • Monitor sanitation standards and ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and operation of food service gear.
  • Assist with cost management and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Schedule shifts, coach staff, and support performance development.
  • Ensure regulatory standards and HACCP/alcohol safety protocols are followed.

Hilton San Francisco Union Square and Parc 55 is looking for a Complex Assistant Executive Steward. Located just two blocks from Union Square and Westfield San Francisco Centre. Our Hilton Union Square property in the largest in the Bay Area with 1921 rooms, over 150,000 square feet of meeting space. Our Parc 55 property has 1024 room with over 30,000 square feet of meeting space. Shift: Varies (AM/PM - including weekday, weekends and holidays.)

  • Primarily administrative role focused on inventory management, ordering, and operational oversight of high-volume food and beverage items.
  • Oversees daily operations, ensuring appropriate team member coverage and effectively delegating responsibilities as needed.
  • Leads daily team lineups, reviews forecasts, and communicates operational priorities and activities.
  • Coordinates and oversees activity execution, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and accountability across the team.
  • Position breakdown: approximately 80% administrative responsibilities and 20% hands‑on operational support.
  • Requires experience in a large convention hotel or high-volume resort environment.
  • Strong knowledge of union work environments preferred, with the ability to hold team members accountable, make decisions confidently, and delegate effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, BirchStreet (inventory and ordering), and UniFocus (scheduling and labor management).
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are highly beneficial.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Here’s what you'll do during a typical day:

  • Support inventory control: Assist with daily coordination, distribution, storage and maintenance of essential items – including china, glassware, linen, and silver – ensuring accuracy and availability for all operations
  • Monitor sanitation standards: Assist in implementing and overseeing sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Oversee equipment maintenance: Assist in securing, maintaining, and ensuring the functionality of food service equipment
  • Assist with cost management: Track expenses and identify cost‑saving opportunities to support departmental efficiency and profitability
  • Support team performance and development: Assist with day‑to‑day team oversight, scheduling shifts, coaching and professional development, conducting evaluations, and recognizing achievements
  • Uphold regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member wellbeing
