Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, based in Savannah, seeks a Completions Electrical Lead Engineer I to guide a team of electrical liaison and design engineers. You will develop task requirements and schedules for outfitting custom aircraft and coordinate model prints for item-level assemblies.

The role requires strong system-level wire diagram/schematic design for aircraft, and experience with avionic, lighting, and A/V systems integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years related engineering experience with a Bachelors; Master's may reduce experience requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and evaluates plans for activities and schedules engineering tasks.
  • Supervises subordinate engineers performing similar tasks.
  • Plans and directs complex engineering projects with multiple smaller projects.
  • Provides technical guidance to ensure quality and schedule.
  • Trains new engineers in methods and procedures.
  • Supports budget preparation and employee evaluations.

Completions Electrical Lead Eng Iin GAC Savannah

Lead responsibilities include guiding and directing a team of electrical liaison engineers and design engineers. - These responsibilities include but are not limited to the development of engineering task requirements, schedules and development of engineering packages in support of outfitting custom aircraft.

The lead electrical engineer will coordinate tasks, schedules and design methodologies to build models and prints that demonstrate a complete understanding required for component parts and assemblies to an end item level.

Communicate project plans and constraints with leadership to ensure alignment to other projects and initiatives.

Proficient in System level Wire Diagram/Schematic design for aircraft.

Experience in Electrical System integration related to Aircraft Avionics, Lighting, and Audio/Video Entertainment systems.

Lead electrical engineer will be required to liaison with the shop on engineering issues.

Lead electrical engineer will employ design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods to meet the manufacturing quality and schedule requirements.

Lead electrical engineer will support/develop training plans and continuous improvement initiatives for the team.

Other Skills - Engineering design work includes the creation of drawings/models using either CATIA V5 or AutoCAD interconnected with SmarTeam. - Knowledge of CHS / EHI toolset.

Other preferred skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in engineering, a related curriculum required.or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years related engineering experience with Bachelors. Master's Degree Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 2 years or Ph.D. Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 4 years.Position Purpose:Executes engineering tasks of moderate complexity with predetermined performance objectives by providing direction to engineering employees within similar disciplines working within a single department

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

  • Develops and evaluates plans for activities and assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed methods and analysis to achieve technical product cost and schedule requirements .
  • Supervises activities of subordinate employees who perform similar tasks within a technical discipline by using established policies and precedents .
  • Plans, coordinates and directs a complex engineering project or a number of smaller projects with moderate complexity .
  • Provides technical guidance to ensure quality of product and schedule .
  • Trains new engineers in methods and procedures .
  • May be called upon to assist in budget preparation and employee evaluations .

Additional Functions:

  • Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements .
  • Maintains a current knowledge of developments and applications of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise .

Perform other duties as assigned.
