Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, GA is seeking a Completions Designer I to support interior layout drawings and manufacturing data from customer specifications. The role collaborates with Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing to finalize designs for external customer approval and to develop 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate has a drafting/engineering background, strong CAD skills, and the ability to work with evolving requirements while adhering to FAA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in drafting, design engineering or related field.
• Proficient in operating CAD equipment.
• Ability to read customer specifications and translate into manufacturing drawings.
• Experience working with FAA requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed interior layout drawings from customer specifications.
• Review designs with Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing for approvals.
• Create 2D drawings and 3D models for exterior paint schemes.
• Create 2D drawings for flooring layouts and manufacturing aids.
• Maintain drawings reflecting evolving program/customer/engineering needs.
• Assist Sales and Engineering with innovative solutions for custom requirements.

This position is for a Designer to support internal/external customers by creating design and manufacturing data.

Specific Role Functions:

1. Develop detailed aircraft interior layout drawings from written customer specifications.
2. Conduct reviews with internal Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing groups to evaluate and finalize design drawings for external customer approval.
3. Create 2D drawings and 3D models to support the manufacturing of exterior paint schemes.
4. Create 2D drawings for flooring layouts and other various manufacturing aids.
5. Create and maintain various drawings to reflect evolving Program, Customer and/or Engineering requirements.
6. Assist Sales and Engineering with innovative solutions for custom requirements.

Required Skills:

1. Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with business aircraft cabin design and development.
2. Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Drafting, Design Engineering or related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Proficient in operating CAD equipment. Position Purpose:Create design drawings for manufacturing of aircraft parts, assemblies, and installations working from customer specifications and instructions. Ensure that activities are in line with internal/external customers, FAA requirements, and Gulfstream processes to achieve department objectives.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

1. Conduct research for information on existing drawings, hardware, vendor parts, etc. relating to job task.
2. Evaluate customer requirements and provides recommendations related to the design.
3. Identify problems and provides solutions to designs.
4. Coordinate design work with other departments, engineers, and designers as required. in order to complete in a timely manner.

Additional Functions:

1. Enforce safety rules and procedures. .
2. Ensure application of all Gulfstream regulations and policies. .

Perform other duties as assigned.This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
