Completions Certification Eng I-NX in GAC Appleton

This is a Certification Engineer position for the Completions Certification Engineering team. This team supports completion related activities for new designs of interior furnishings and amenities as part of outfitting new Gulfstream aircraft along with supporting other Certification related activities. This position requires effective communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate company certification programs for alterations and modifications. This position is involved in creating documents to support the certification of interior completions. Additional responsibilities are outlined in the job description and as assigned. The abilities to multi-task, be proactive/self-start, and communicate with internal and external customers are important aspects of this position. Experience with engineering design is a plus. Experience in project management is a plus. Experience and knowledge of DO-160, DO-178 and DO-254 processes and experience with FAA (14 CFR Part 25) and/or EASA (CS-25) certification is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Entry level. 0-18 months experience.

Position Purpose:

Performs engineering work related to the investigation and solution of basic problems associated with research, design, development, service and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes by completing discrete engineering tasks on schedule .
• Using company procedures, applies engineering knowledge to resolve routine issues .
• Analyzes and evaluates results of project activities .
• Prepares recommendations for changes and compiles necessary reports for various department supervision .
• Recognizes discrepancies and/or problems with analysis/test results and works toward corrective action .

Additional Functions:

• Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements .
• Continues learning and developing knowledge of application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

• The level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this grade level will be established by each discipline.
• Work is closely supervised/monitored, follows established procedures and methods.
• Failure to achieve results may cause delays in program schedules.
• Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats.
• Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, mentor, and other exempt professionals in the group or department.

This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
