Job summary

Sam Houston State University is seeking a Student Employee- Campus Recreation- Competitive Sports Supervisor. This role involves supervising intramural and club sports, enforcing rules, and delivering excellent customer service to hundreds of participants per shift.

The position is 12–20 hours per week, with evenings and weekend shifts. Ideal candidates are enrolled in 6+ credit hours, have CPR/AED/First Aid certification, and can pass the Texas background check while completing required SHSU

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in 6 or more credit hours at SHSU.
• Must pass State of Texas criminal background check.
• Complete SHSU student employee compliance training and required trainings.
• CPR / AED / First Aid certification (or plan to enroll within first week).

Responsibilities

• Set-up and tear-down equipment for Intramural and Club Sports programming.
• Main point of contact and assist up to 500 participants per shift.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patrons with strong communication.
• Evaluate and develop student officials on program criteria.
• Enforce policies and procedures of SHSU Campus Recreation.
• Respond to injuries and provide care.
• Create a welcoming and safe environment for participants and spectators.
• Communicate with all staff in a professional and timely manner.
