This position is contingent upon sufficient student participation and the approval of District 209 to run the program.
This position is responsible for leading and managing the athletic program for the sport. The coach will work closely with students, faculty, administrators, and parents to implement a comprehensive and competitive program. Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, the coach assumes overall responsibility for the program, fostering a positive and disciplined team culture. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to work collaboratively within the school community. A successful track record in teaching and coaching is expected.
This stipend position is a non-tenure, extra-duty assignment contingent upon sufficient student enrollment, program approval, and available funding. It is not subject to continued renewal and may be discontinued at the district's discretion.?
*Employees who accept a coaching or activity sponsorship stipend position and are classified as non exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act FLSA are subject to federal overtime and timekeeping requirements. These employees will be paid at an hourly rate of $15 per hour and are guaranteed at least the full stipend amount upon satisfactory completion of duties at the conclusion of the term. All coaching and sponsorship duties, including coaching, supervising, practicing, competing, planning, and related activities, count as hours worked. Non exempt employees must be paid overtime for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. To comply with the FLSA, stipends may not be paid without tracking actual hours worked. All non exempt coaches and activity sponsors must clock in and out and log all hours worked daily in the district's electronic timekeeping system, recording time separately by position, such as primary role and coach or sponsor role. The district's electronic timekeeping system will be used to track hours, determine total hours worked in each position, and calculate overtime accurately. Employees will receive any required overtime compensation calculated using a blended rate that combines their regular hourly rate and the stipend associated with the coaching or sponsorship assignment. Accurate and timely time entry is required to ensure proper pay and maintain FLSA compliance.
Employment is subject to the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the approval of the Board of Education and the results and official determination of your criminal history review, the mandatory Faith's Law employment history review and the required processes outlined in Board Policy 5:30. ?This is an at-will, extra-duty appointment and may be discontinued at the District's discretion.
