Cataldo Ambulance Service Inc. in Newburyport, MA is seeking a chair car/wheelchair van driver to provide safe non-emergency transportation for disabled and elderly patients to medical appointments and facilities.

You will assist with boarding, secure wheelchairs, and ensure passenger safety and comfort throughout the ride. This part-time role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification (training provided if needed), 1+ year of driving experience, and the ability to handle paperwork

Qualifications

Must be 19 years of age or older.
Pre-hire Lift test and physical must be passed.
Pre-Hire drug screen and MA CORI required.
Background check and MA CORI verification annually.
Motor vehicle driving record verification annually.

Responsibilities

Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments and facilities.
Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring comfort and safety.
Secure wheelchairs for transportation.
Maintain a clean, safe vehicle and follow safety standards.
Coordinate with dispatchers and patients on pickup/drop-off times and locations.
Provide excellent customer service with empathy and professionalism.
Follow traffic laws and prioritize patient safety.
Complete required paperwork (trip logs, mileage, incident reports).
Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
