PetVet Care Centers' Oakwood Animal Hospital in Oakwood, Georgia, seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians with daily tasks, cleaning and maintaining equipment, restraining and handling patients, and performing clerical work.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, accurate record-keeping, radiographs and lab work, and client communication, with a culture of care across our network of hospitals.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
• Relevant experience as a veterinary assistant

Responsabilités

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet clients and their owners, take weight and vital signs on arrival
• Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by licensed staff
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and patient restraint
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and record keeping
• Fill prescriptions and maintain proper documentation
• Feed patients as prescribed and monitor appetites
• Educate clients about insurance, wellness, and treatment plans
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the hospital, kennels, and equipment
• Bath and groom patients staying overnight; ensure proper release
• Uphold safety and wellness regulations and follow directions
• Maintain accurate medical records and promote hospital products
• Respond to directions from DVM/LVT with urgency
• May perform other duties as assigned by management
