Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients and staff while delivering quality care. You’ll help maintain patient flow, assist with procedures, and educate clients about preventive care.

This role requires NAVTA-approved VA program completion (or equivalent) and a high school diploma; prior NAVTA experience is beneficial. Banfield offers learning opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or the equivalent
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to perform NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program skills at a proficient level

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient flow and assist the veterinarian and vet techs
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and areas clean
• Educate clients about wellness plans and preventive care
• Mentor other members of the hospital team
