Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensure patient safety, and assist in delivering quality care. NAVTA-certified or equivalent education, plus a high school diploma preferred, is expected.

Qualifications

• Prefers NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Vet Assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure safety and continuity of care.
• Maintains patient flow and communicates with veterinarians and vet techs.
• Sets up or carries out procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Keeps treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized while following hospital standards.
• Educates clients about preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans.
• Mentors other hospital team members.
