New Tampa Animal Hospital in Lutz, FL is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our well-established two-doctor practice.

As part of our medical team, you will assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, patient histories, labs, and anesthesia while maintaining compassionate client communication.

Qualifications

• Previous Veterinary Technician experience.
• Licensure as a Veterinary Technician is welcomed.
• Strong patient handling and restraint skills.
• Experience assisting with exams, treatments, procedures and surgery.
• Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement and fluid therapy.
• Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and recovery.
• Excellent client communication and education skills.
• Accurate, thorough medical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, procedures and surgery.
• Obtain patient histories, weights, vital signs and clinical data.
• Safely restrain patients prioritizing comfort and safety.
• Perform in-house lab tests and prepare samples for labs.
• Administer medications, vaccines and therapies as directed.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with recovery and monitoring.
• Maintain medical records and communicate with clients.
