Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets and clients while maintaining quality care. You will educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans, and contribute to a collaborative hospital environment.

The role emphasizes NAVTA-aligned skills, compassionate service, and mentoring teammates as part of a busy clinical team.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform all required NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant skills at a level that aids in the efficiency of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure patient safety.
• Help maintain the flow of patients and communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and facilities clean and organized.
• Educate clients about our Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
