Job summary

Sunshine Communities in Maumee, Ohio is seeking a Driver to transport Individuals with Developmental Disabilities to and from vocational sites and jobs, while assisting in other duties as needed. You will perform pre-trip vehicle inspections, ensure safety, help with onboarding and offboarding, follow routes, and complete daily paperwork.

A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to lift 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record and auto insurance.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical/PT assessment.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Prior driving experience with vans or buses is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre-trip inspection of assigned vehicles.
• Operate Sunshine vehicles to transport multiple Individuals at a time.
• Maintain order during trip and adhere to safety rules.
• Assist Individuals with On-boarding and Off-boarding safely from the vehicle.
• Follow assigned routes.
• Secure Individuals equipment and wheelchairs on and off the vehicle.
• Complete daily paperwork and monitor maintenance issues.
• Train staff on driving as needed.
• Assist with all duties assigned.
