Job summary

Pinon Unified School District is seeking an Exceptional Student Service Bus Monitor to help keep students safe during transportation to and from school. You will assist the bus driver and support a calm, orderly environment on the bus.

Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, reporting incidents, assisting with first aid, and communicating with parents and school staff. The role emphasizes safety, attendance, and professional conduct during daily routes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with children of all ages.
• Knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
• Ability to stand, sit, and move around the bus for extended periods.
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful situations.
• Must be able to pass a background check and physical test.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly bus environment.
• Monitor the behavior of students and report any incidents to the appropriate authorities.
• Ensure that students are following all safety regulations and procedures.
• Maintain accurate attendance records for each student.
• Provide first aid assistance when necessary.
• Communicate with parents and school administrators about any issues that arise during transportation.
• Keep the interior of the bus clean and free from clutter.
